Château du Plessis Bourré

One of the finest castles in Anjou, only ten minutes from Les Briottières. Still occupied today by its owners. Built in 1468. The transitional architecture is a cross between a fortress and a Renaissance-style dwelling. Opulently furnished rooms, magnificent structure and in the Guard Room, a ceiling painted with mysterious alchemic figures whose secrets remain to be discovered.

Château de Montreuil-Bellay

A mix of feudal strength and Renaissance grace. ...
The Château Montreuil-Bellay with its time immemorial winemaking tradition.
Four families and ten centuries of history.

The Cointreau Museum

Visit the distillery founded in 1849 and hear the fine story of the Cointreau monks who invented the famous liqueur based on orange peel. This fun, educational, cultural museum enables you to explore, in four large themed areas, the secrets of success of the COINTREAU brand. More than 4000 documents and objects on display over 3000 m². 80 publicity films, a 12-min history film, original items which are unique in the world...

The Pottery Museum at Malicorne-sur-Sarthe

This is a working Pottery Museum established on the site of an old factory, in a remarkable architectural setting combining tradition and modernity.

Château d’ Angers and the Apocalypse Tapestry

This castle, built in the early 13th century by Saint Louis (King Louis IX), is characterised by its pentagonal wall, nearly a kilometre long, bulging with 17 massive towers. Inside are its hanging gardens and the famous Apocalypse Tapestry (1370), the largest piece of Medieval weaving in the world, at more than 100 metres long.

Château de Serrant

A 16th century château whose appearance is magnificent and yet severe. Inside is one of the finest collections of French furniture. Exceptional library.

Gregorian Chants at the Abbaye de Solesmes
