For all nature lovers, Terra Botanica is a 12-hectare theme park that reveals to its visitors the wonderful world of plants. Through extraordinary gardens, entertainment and fun attractions, you will have fun while enriching yourself thanks to the numerous discoveries.
Located in the city of Angers, the Terra Botanica Park is only about twenty kilometers from the Château des Briottières. With an impressive collection of nearly 275,000 plants, trees and flowers from all regions of the world, this place is a true paradise shared between four enchanting worlds.
“Les Grandes Explorations” will plunge you into the lush universe of a tropical greenhouse where banana trees, coconut trees and several spices grow in abundance. “L'Escapade en Anjou” is an immersion in the typical ecosystem of the Angevin country, with in particular numerous plants acclimatized by King René. “Le Végétal Insolite” is a space where the most diverse plants, wild or tamed, coexist. Finally, “At the origins of life” was drawn to illustrate the earth in the time of ferns and tall trees.
Throughout the worlds you will cross, several attractions are available so that you can have full fun while learning. In a 34 meter-diameter balloon filled with helium, you will climb up to 150 meters above the ground and have one of the most beautiful panoramas of Angers, including the valleys and rivers that shape the region. “To the test of extremes” is the park's other sensational attraction, with holographic projections of the living conditions of the most resistant plants.
For a moment of calm and stroll, the “Botanical Odyssey” is a peaceful boat trip between the most beautiful flowers of Anjou. Finally, during the “Nutshell Journey”, you will pedal at your own pace on a long rail that overlooks the trees, an original way to explore the peaks.
In the park, young and old alike can learn to garden and take care of the many animals present. Even better, they will be able to get to know the big T-Rex, which quickly became the local mascot. For catering, the à la carte menu and snacks are prepared with regional products.
