In the early 1990’s the Chateau des Briottières was the setting for the film “Impromptu”, about Frederick Chopin and George Sand. During the filming, Emma Thompson stayed in the Pink Room.

We will definitely return. The location and the Chateau are excellent. Staff and food excellent. We sayed in the Junior Suite which fulfilled our expectations. The price is not cheap but worth the money for what you get in return; peace, tranquility and personal service. Thank you.

Chateau des Briottieres is a fabulous and very different place to stay. An impressive chateau, owned by the same family for the last two hundred years, and still furnished with all the family heirlooms. Francois and his wife are the perfect hosts where you are treated as their personal guests rather than hotel clients. If you value genuine quality, a beautiful location and a truly unique experience you must try this place. This will now be a regular pit-stop on our journeys between the UK and Spain.
